Planning Ancillary Products: 'Dos' and 'Don'ts' of Design Work

'DOS'

- Stick to two clear fonts
- Make sure the photographs used are clear and in focus
- Make sure the colours used fit the genre 
- Include fundamentals such as the Barcode, the Artists name, the Album name, Copyright information, Song list, the Artists website and the Record Labels logo
- Follow the rule of thirds



'DON'TS'

- Limit the amount of effects used
- Don't stretch out the images
- Don't use fonts simply because you like them
- Don't feel the need to have photos on every panel
- Don't place text across the artists face
