RESEARCH: Review of Student Video

Here is an analysis of previous A2 students music video.

The genre of the song used is Dubstep which attracts the 17+ audience. Great editing skills are portrayed in this music video from slow motion and fast motion, which was used appropriately towards the beat of the song, to the special effect casted throughout the whole video. They followed Goodwin's theology of the singer as the narrator using many base-tracks of the singer looking into the camera (including their audience/fans). There's a representation of gender in the video as she has a male touching her emphasising male desire also the extreme close up on her eyes and face shows beauty which could represents female beauty bring focused on highlighting Mulvey's theory. I think a weakness of the music video was the incorporated clips of the dancers. It didn't quite flow with the song and the camerawork was still which should of been filmed from various angles to add excitement.
